A Decade of Carsoda

Ten years ago, on March 23, 2016, something small but meaningful happened. Order #21131002 came in — the very first sale on a website we had just built from scratch. We were nervous, excited, and honestly had no idea what we were getting into.

Today, as we scroll through our order history, we’re floored. That single order has grown into tens of thousands of orders from customers all over the world. Some of you have been with us since the beginning, placing over 30 orders with us over the years. We see your names pop up again and again, and it never stops feeling special.

How It All Started

What most of you don’t know is that Carsoda was born out of a setback. Liz and I had our Etsy shop shut down, and we were left wondering what to do next. So we built this little store ourselves — just the two of us, figuring things out as we went. It wasn’t fancy, but it was ours.

This business is woven into our family’s story. It’s not just a store to us — it’s how we put food on the table, how we taught our kids about hard work, and how we built a life we’re proud of.

We’re not a big corporation. We’re a family business, and we plan to keep it that way. Our dream is simple: run Carsoda for another ten years, until we’re ready to retire. We want to keep doing what we love, serving customers we’ve come to think of as friends.
